NIS2 and the family office: what governance actually means now

    April 2026 · 8 min read

Some family offices can fall within NIS2, depending on their legal entities, activities, size and the national rules that apply. Map each entity, identify the services it provides and record which thresholds or sector rules may bring it into scope. Keep an inventory of systems, suppliers and incident contacts, then document how management approves and reviews those controls. The exact analysis should be confirmed with the office’s legal advisers because NIS2 scope differs by entity and Member State.
